Installing windows xp on asus p9x79ws

Hello, I just built a new rig with the p9x79ws. Im trying to no avail to install xp pro from a sp2 disk that i slipstreamed sp3 to...i keep getting the blue screen of death once the process gets to the "starting windows" portion of the install. i was told by asus that as long as i had sp3 it would install. I have burned 4 disks 4 different ways and the results are the same...set up is p9x79ws, i7 3820, 4gig kingston hyperx ram, intel 330 series ssd 60gig...any help would be greatly appreciated...i know the first answer will be install win7 but im trying to hold off on that now since most of the expensive software i have is for xp...plus im tapped out after the hardware purchases and dont really want to drop another 200 on win7

Have you researched the stop code on the bsod ? If windows is starting, can you get into Safe mode ?
