Have an ASUS P5WD2 Premium MB, that support 8gb memory. Had 1gb memory (2x512)chips. Just bought 4gb 2x2gb, and installed it. when i go to system it only shows 3gb.???

You have a 32bit OS? You need 64 bit to see more than around 3.2gb.
