I am building my first computer and was wondering which ram is compatable with this mobo


Gigabyte 890FX-UD5

Any was looking at ddr3 1600 any brand suggestions on new egg that would work?

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Bear in mind that the UD5 don't support 1600 as default in that case if u want the 1600MHz u need set all the specifications of the RAM manually in the BIOS and cross finger for a stable system.

I have the same mobo with this Crucial Ballistix Tracer 1600

This G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 are very good too.

Is there an amd compatable mobo that will let me do the 1600 without overclocking? These are the rest of my build components right now:

Mobo: Gigabyte 890FX-UD5 139

RAM: 6 GB DD3 1600 240
OS: Windows 7 64 bit OEM
Case: Cooler Master HAF X 199

i mean without having to overclock and decrease system stability?

And others one but with nVidia chipset.

P.D. AMD don't support tri-channel so 6GB isn't a good option.
P.D. If u set the setting in the right mode, the system should be stable it's stable in my case.
