Hi, I just got a new CPU for my K9A2 CF (it's V1 btw, which should support it since it's only 95w) and I'm having trouble getting it to boot at all. I've gone through 2 RMAs already so I don't know the chances of 3 of them in a row being DOA (Pins are okay). I know it's an old board but I'm trying to make it last as long as possible.

It DOES say it's compatible on the MSI website with BIOS versions 1.8 and up. I've tried flashing through every one up to latest and still nothing happens. The cpu stays completely cold when turned on briefly without heatsink/fan. (I was very careful with that and handling it as I've worked on many systems whether friends/family.)

Here's what I've tried so far,

- Flashing BIOS versions up to 1.C
- Removing RAM/GPU (No beeps)
- Using 2GB instead of 4GB RAM
- CMOS jumpers were cleared each time
- Removing CMOS battery for 30 minutes
- Removing all other peripherals and hardware
- Trying to boot it on bare floor out of case
- Using a different PSU, although one I have is 900w and should be more then enough.
- The heatsink fan is always plugged in, as well as 12pin connectors.

Fans, DVD drive all start when powered on.

And here's specs,

AMD Phenom II X3 Heka 720 Black Edition (HDZxxxxxxx)
MSI K9A2 CF
4GB GSkill PC-6400 memory
Sapphire H4870
Rosewill 900w PSU
Mouse, keyboard, speakers and headphones are all USB.

Also note it works fine with old cpu which is an Athlon X2, I'm on it now.

Am I missing something or anyone have any ideas what to do?
