MATX mobo in ATX case?

This is cheap because its super outdated. Socket 754 was quickly replaced by Socket 939 (AM), which only lasted about a year and them AM2 was out.

What's your budget for this build? I wouldn't waste any money on old technology.
 
I wouldn't bother with it right now. Save your money.

If you're really desperate for a new computer, look into pre-builts. They can give you better performance for a lower price in that range. It's only the more expensive builds where you actually get value from building it yourself.

It's a decent computer. Just add a discrete video card and you'll be fine,
but adding might force you to upgrade the power supply. HP and Dells
build their computers with power supplies to only power what you get in the
box and do not accounnt for upgrades. I would much rather get that iBuyPower that this.

If $500+ is your budget, then building would be better than buying.
You get all the stuff you pay for and can accounnt for future upgrades.
