MATX mobo in ATX case?

i wam looking at a motherboard/cpu/hsf combo. also, i have found a case that i like. however, the case supports ATX and Micro ATX mobos. is mATX the same as Micro atx?WOULd this motheboard fit into the
case

Yes. The case specifically states ATX, microATX.

Are you buying this board? and a CPU to go with it?
If you are, then don't.

Socket 754 is long dead and only uses DDR memory. I don't even think it has Dual Core cpus.

I didn't even think to look at the mobo. I agree with masterasia. Unless this is an old computer, do bother buying that board.

Save your money for when you can actually build a computer. If you don't have somewhere in the vicinity of $500, you really aren't going to be able to do much...

This is cheap because its super outdated. Socket 754 was quickly replaced by Socket 939 (AM), which only lasted about a year and them AM2 was out.

What's your budget for this build? I wouldn't waste any money on old technology.

like $350 or less. even 350s a bit much. i dont have all the money at this second, but i should have it soon. also, maybe i should get the ram and a sata cable used.

I wouldn't bother with it right now. Save your money.

If you're really desperate for a new computer, look into pre-builts. They can give you better performance for a lower price in that range. It's only the more expensive builds where you actually get value from building it yourself.

you mean like dell or hp prebuilts or like the custom made ones from like cyberpower and stuff. best buy has an hp with like 6gb ram for super cheap, maybe ill get the souped doesn version to save $$$

It's a decent computer. Just add a discrete video card and you'll be fine,
but adding might force you to upgrade the power supply. HP and Dells
build their computers with power supplies to only power what you get in the
box and do not accounnt for upgrades. I would much rather get that iBuyPower that this.

If $500+ is your budget, then building would be better than buying.
You get all the stuff you pay for and can accounnt for future upgrades.
