EVGA is out with a new motherboard that's aimed at the the mid-budget market. I couldn't really find any reviews of it except an unboxing video on youtube.

Has anybody had any experience with this board? Would you recommend it over the ASUS board?

Tomshardware recently used it for one of their benchmarks too. I hope they come out with a review soon!

I am leaning towards the FTW3 because it looks like it will have space for a PCI soundcard (HT Omega) after upgrading to a GTX 470 SLI configuration unlike the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R and the Asus P6X58D-E which are it's immediate contenders.

Here's a comparison between them on Newegg:

Please help me on making a decision...

I just came across this thread, because I too am in a similar situation. Why did you end up going with the p6x58d-e, and not the EVGA? I plan on buying the same cpu and will be either getting 8 or 12 gigs of ram.

Because, none of the forum members bothered to reply! I don't know what's wrong with them but i think you would be better off asking questions somewhere else. :fou:

There are already a ton of reviews and guides available for the p6x58d-e that are 99% positive. I am very happy that I followed those because I overclocked my i7-930 to 4ghz in no time and effort at all :bounce:  . I suggest you subscribe to overclock.net and find the guide to overclock this cpu using this motherboard. Go ahead and buy the p6x58d-e, no questions asked!!!
