Case - Thermaltake VA8003BWS
Mobo - GIGABYTE GA-MA790GPT-UD3H AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
CPU - AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Black Processor Model HDZ720WFGIBOX
Ram - OCZ PC3 10666 Low Voltage 4x2 Platinum series 8gb

The cpu/mobo combo is 193.99 as a package deal at newegg.com
The case I got locally brand new for 99.99
I've already purchased the ram locally 8 gigs @ 120.00

At first I'll use the integrated graphics on this build while I budget for a newer video card.
Need recommendations for

A. Video card around 200.00
B. Decent power supply for this rig
C. Optical Drive
D. Hard drives, primary for OS and Data storage backup drive.

Thanks, and also input on the parts picked already is welcome!

Also this ram says optimized for core i5, 17 systems, should work fine on the Amd Phenom though if I tweak the voltages?
The model number for the ram is OCZP1333LV4GK I bought two 4x2 kits

I recommend the 5770 GPU, Corsair 650W PSU, Sony or LG optic drive, Samsung F3 or Seagate 7200.12 HDD

The RAM will work fine without tweaking. It is just advertised for Intel to increase sales for Intel. Unless you are doing some serious work you will be fine with 4GB's of RAM.

Thanks for the advice. I know the mobo is decent, am i choosing a good cpu? Are there better options on the price range? Chose this one based on price and ability to unlock the 4th core

There is the Athlon II X4 for $99 which does perform better than the 720. The Athlon II isn't an extreme OCer but it hits 3.25Ghz for most people.

The 720 unlocked will OC very well, close to 4Ghz. The unlocked core tends to perform a bit shady for some from what I've read. Still does the job though.
