which processor is the best

The one that Intel will release on March 16th for $999. If I might ask, how about a budget range and an idea of what you gonna do with it ..... then we can give you the best one for the money. Or you could read this if goal is gaming.

As JackNaylorPE said, the Intel i7 Gulftown processors will be the best. They are hexa-core processors (6 cores) that uses 32nm technology and has each core running at a whopping 3.33GHz. Truly insane, but too much for the average user. ($1000!!)

A normal computer user who does some light gaming would be better suited with any of AMDs new chips (Athlon II, Phenom II) or with an Intel Core i3/i5. ($50-200)
