when in newsgroups, i might want to delete a message.how
ever the dropdown window shows the "delete" option greyed
out.consequently i cant delete any newsgroup
messages.why? what can i do?

Newsgroups are a public resource, so it will not let a user delete.
Newsgroups are not like a private mailbox for email that messages are housed
or hosted on your system. You can clear a history, on your machine, but
not delete specific messages.

Think of it as a laminated newspaper. Everything is there for you to pick
and chose what you want to read, but the only way to get rid of articles is
to put the paper away.
