If you could get Gskill 2000 9-9-9-24 memory for the same price as the Gskill 1600 7-7-7-21 memory, which would you get? I would assume you can take the 2000 memory and "slow it down" to the same timings as the 1600 memory and it would work just as well, right?

Although I'm not planning to overclock my i7 860 yet, i will likely do so in the future and would like to already have ram capable of going at a faster OC speed.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it's basically the same ram just the 1600 got binned lower for some reason, but since it has such good timings it could possibly run 2000 CL9 as well. The 2000 mhz stuff could definitely get binned slower with faster timings to 1600 CL7, who knows maybe a bit faster than that even.
