I was trying to follow the How-To Guide for setting up a Active Directory with Win Server 2k3, but unfortunately...I cannot get it running. First off, i followed the examples to a 'T' configuring all my DNS, DHCP, WINS, and AD as shown. My problem is, when I turn off the DHCP on the router, I cannot connect to the internet with the server. Furthermore, I cannot get other workstations to join the domain I established.
[Server]
Static IP reserved thru router: 192.168.0.4
DNS: Points to Server IP and Router IP
Gateway: Points to the Server IP and Router IP
I dont know what I need to do? Should I just scrap the router in general and use it purely as a switch? Config the Server with all of the setting recieved through Cox Cable? Is it possible to have the Server act as a router just as the Netgear router I have here does? Will other computers that join the domain get full resource priveleges as well as outbound internet access? Anyone care to help me through this problem?
