Ah well. What price would someone buy it for then?

Reply to Diode3000

Probably something around $250'ish

I want to see an <font color=blue>Ati Radeon 99999 Ultra Pro</font color=blue>, based on the <font color=red>AtiRage core</font color=red>. And people wonder how a <font color=purple>Geforce3</font color=purple> is better than a <font color=orange>Geforce4 Mx...</font color=orange>

LOL, if anything you should raise the price (maybe to $500), that is going for $630 retail box on Newegg (Northwood, Slot 478, 512K cache, and Hyper threading)

<A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?catalog=343&DEPA=1&submit=property&mfrcode=0&propertycode=&propertycodevalue=4186,4721" target="_new">http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?catalog=343&DEPA=1&submit=property&mfrcode=0&propertycode=&propertycodevalue=4186,4721</A>

If you sold it for 500, that is about 150 loss on your part (calculate shipping), minus a warranty on the buyer's part (unless you are willing to replace it if it goes bad...). Otherwise I don't <b>ever</b> <i>ever</i> want to hear the word "Newegg" come out of the mouth of any THG forum member again

Everyone on THG seems obsessed with Newegg. If you bought from this guy, you could save almost 200 dollars. That to me, does not make Newegg, seem so good as you guys claim.

Reply to Clarentavious

well buy it then if you like it so much d00d. I was just telling the d00d that his deal is prolly not going to even get any offers man. I dont need that i have a respectable system right now without having to upgrade for a little bit at least.

Dell was selling a complete P4 3.2 Ghz system for that price last week. He probably bought the system and is selling the procesor out of it.

Then Newegg isn't so great as everyone on here claims afterall. Or, at least, great with their prices..........

Reply to Clarentavious

yeah youre right id rather go to ebay and buy a product of someone and have it totally phukked and then not be able to return it cuz the guy wont give me a warranty on the phukker....
but newegg sux.

Well as you can see we are talking about 2 different issues. All I am saying is, from what I remember, every single person here recommends Newegg as a place to shop; I even recall one post where someone gave a person a link to Newegg when he was looking for things to buy here on THG

I can say I've bought from other places and got great prices and warranty service, such as

http://www.pc-beyond.com/

http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/Home.jsp

http://www.techonweb.com/

Why is it people here are so seemingly biased towards Newegg? .......

Quetzacoatl, what a way to show your maturity, along with your desire to buy parts at much less than they should be sold for and are worth.

Reply to Clarentavious

i guess so my bad,

hell i dont even buy from newegg...lol

Because they have a good selection, good prices, ground shipping gets to you within three days from an opposite coast, they give away freebies with your order, they give you a tracking number, they actually answer your phone calls, they are generally a good place to buy from. Ebay is none of these things. I'm sure the other places you mentioned have some of these features, but newegg excels in these areas, not just delivers. THe freebies are a nice touch too.

And since when was the point of buying used parts to get them for their retail value or manufacturers cost? No one would honestly buy a part when they can get it new for about %5-10 more, with several years of warranty. When I buy new parts, I get them from places like Newegg that offer competative pricing, and reliable service. Used, i've had luck getting them relatively cheaply from several sources, not just being THG and Ebay, but others as well.

This isn't at all about maturity, it's about spending hard earned money on a product that may or may not have defects, being used. You don't ever look for a used part that costs any more than it should, and by no means, should *anyone* be required to spend a superfluous amount on something they can reliably get cheaply off a website or local vendor.

Reply to Quetzacoatl

Alright, we should probably end this discussion now. I think we all have valid points about buying from different sources and the potential result in contrast to the price.

Anyway, forgive me for getting kind of topic and starting a debate.
