I just finished building a computer around the Intel i7 920, with an ASUS P6T motherboard and G.Skill RAM (6GB, model no. F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ). The RAM is supposed to run at 1600 speed, but CPU-Z reports that it is running at about 801 MHz. I have already changed the RAM to the XMP mode, which automatically set all the timings and said that it was running at its rated speed, 1600. Is CPU-Z just reporting something wrong? I cannot figure out why it is reported as 800 MHz, half its rated speed, when all the BIOS settings are correct. Is there anyone more experienced than me that can help me get these speeds right?

It's fine, that is the correct number. You multiply the memory bus rate (800) by two because it is Double Data Rate RAM to find the operating frequency (1600).
