Hello,
I have a compaq mini 110c-1010EE
it has AMI bios (c)2006
05/11/09 Ver:08.00.15
bios ver:308F0F05 EC ver:02.09
before displaying the bios info it says "can't find the serial" in red color..
after the bios info it displays "CMOS settings wrong"
then it asks the password witch I know, but it says that the password is wrong
Compaq says that we have to replace the Bios, but I'm sure you know how to fix this problem by flashing or someway else..
I'm thinking of removing the CMOS baterry and wait for a while..if this way works, how much time should I wait..
***I tried to short the chip on MB but I couldn't recognize it..what's its number?
pleeeeease help me and don't give me up.

Try removing the battery for at least five minutes (press the power button a few times to discharge the system); some leave the battery out overnight. Anyway, after some time, put the battery back in and see it the computer will POST. If not, you may have to get a replacement BIOS chip from Compaq - many pre-assembled systems have a proprietary BIOS that is tied to the operating system (e.g., that yours cannot find the serial number is a clue).
