My friend wants to sell a hardly used (and I know this is true) Dell Dimension 8300. How much do you think it's worth. I'm thinking of buying it for my 4-year old granddaughter.

Pentium 4 processor 2.8GHz with 800MHz front side bus 512MB Dual Channel
DDR SDRAM at 400MHZ (2x256M)
Ultrasharp Digital Flat Panel Display Monitor 64MB DDR NVIDIA
Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
Windows XP Home Edition
Integrated Intel PRO 10/100 Ethernet 56K PCI Data/Fax
56K PCI Data/Fax Modem
48x CD-RW Drive
Integrated 5.1 Audio sound card with Dolby Digital 5.1 capability
Altec Lansing ADA215 Speakers
WordPerfet Productivity Pack

Thanks for any help.

For the box only, maybe $75-80 tops. It doesn't have enough ram to run vista or xp. Check your local craigslist for similar deals.

hardly used is a bit meaningless for computers, its not a car

the issue is the technology is really outdated

currently similar PC go for $200 on ebay with 17" LCD and twice the ram

I would not pay more then $150 for what you listed (and that's if you held a gun to my head)

Maybe $100 honestly. I got a similar system for about $80 to play around with.

well includeing the monitor and speakers $100 would be a fair price the box itself is not worth much but the whole system would be a good deal for $100.
