PS3 problems

Hi,

I'm having trouble getting a problem free connection on my ps3 via a router. Despite looking at countless guides for forwarding ports and setting up a DMZ I still can't host despite succeeding in getting NAT 2! All this is very new to me but I'm sure I've done everything right with no luck. : ( The connection is stable, everything is perfect barring the hosting problem. I have a Belkin F5D8236-4 v2 (01) if this helps.

Also, I was wondering if I could connect a router and ps3 vis a switch to avoid the NAT firewall? Link to my switch if helpful: http://www.amazon.co.uk/NEWLink-Port-Ethernet-Switch-Bl...

Please help if you can : )

Many thanks,

Lorelai

On the PS3 browse to http://www.canyouseeme.org/

Type in the ports you are suppose to have open and see if they really are open.

If you are using ADSL for internet it's possible you will have to have the ports forwarded by the internet provider.

I'm not at home right now but will try that thanks : )

Unfortunately I don't have ADSL I have cable broadband.

Any ideas why the DMZ didn't work though? I set the static ip on the ps3 : ( connected but still no hosting.
