Hello,
I have begun to build my new pc and have a question about the usb 1 and 2 header connections.
my m/b is a gigabyte m61pme-s2p with two usb ports and was wondering if the front usb headers (I have 2 usb cables) and a firewire cable and dont know if both usb 1 and 2 cables get connected to just 1 usb header and does the fire wire get connected to the usb 2 header.please help
thanks in advance for any info that can lead me in the right direction.
thanks, brian

dont connect the 1394(fw) ports to the usb. they connect to their own spot on the mobo. its aheader that looks similar to usb, but it should say something like "1394" next to it. yes, connect both usb cables to ur mobo. if you only connect 1 then only i port will work.

huh?
well, a usb header has 9 pins. if you have 2 front usb ports, you will have either 1 thingy to connect to thingy, with 9 female pins or two separate thingies, each with 5 female pins. line them up, and 1 wire may hang off. its ok.
each usb header supports 2 usb ports.
