Hello,
I currently have a dell dimension 2400 desktop that I would like to upgrade if possible. I want to use a new motherboard, processor, hard drive, video card and sound card. How hard would this be or could it even be done at all??? Don't really want to buy a new one if I can upgrade this one to run better. My husband likes to play games, especially Fallout 3 for pc and we don't have the requirements for it to work.

The dell case isn't worth saving. You'll need to replace almost everything, including the power supply. I get all my stuff at newegg or frys electronics. Newegg is a good website to check out specs of specific items, even if you purchase them somewhere else.

As o1die stated, just about everything will have to be replaced, even the RAM. With the all parts you want to replace, you might as well build/buy a new one. Is there is a particular price range you are looking to stay within?
