Why wont the two pulgs in the front of my computer wont work

yes im trying to use my headset for teamspeak but everytime i put the two pulgs in the front and back of the computer tower i can still here the speakers out loud and no one can hear me talk can someone help?

Are your front panel audio connectors actually plugged in to the sound card?
