THE DRIVES THAT ARE THERE ARE C: DRIVE AND MY D: DRIVE DVD/CD/ROM...IT
ALSO SHOWS AN E:DRIVE CD ROM, SOMETHING THAT I DO NOT HAVE AS AND EXTRA.

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT WHEN I WAS DEFRAGEMENTING THE IOMEGA EGO EXT.

OMG CAPS!!!!!! if you want help dont list your email, This isnt allowed on the forums and no-one is going to respond to you.

Now on to your problem, it sounds to me like you have a hard drive failure if you cant see anything on the hard drive. It might also be a controller failure on the external hard drive.

The only way to test this is to take the hard drive out of the enclosure and plug it into the computer directly using SATA ports. If it recognizes inside the computer then its a bad controller. If it doesnt get recognized then it could be that the hard drive failed.

Which if the case you might be able to recover some stuff using programs like diskdigger for example or by using Hdat2 or Vivard to repair the surface of the disk for corrupted bits.
