Please Help.
Bought a used PC that is overclocked (i7 bloomfied OC to 4.1ghz), it has 2 x 480Gtx in sLi.
the whole thing is heavily water cooled, cpu and both gfx cards.
Im no computer expert, I just know the basics, but I cant work out why my pc keeps crashing, (and sometimes restarting) or not showing anything on start up, and other times it runs fine for hours, i can run it some days perfectly and push it hard with 3d games (runs well no issues) for hours at a time.
Other times when turning on the screen does't even come out of standby, or when it does after multiple resetting it crashes in windows or freezes and just will not start at all. sometimes it resets also (which i suspect is overheating)
I have two lcd temp gauges that show <30 degrees, the manual fans are always set to max, and core temp always shows low temps when its crashed in windows. what is going on??
I am thinking of un-clocking the PC or at least winding it down to see if it solves it, but i have no over clocking experience or knowledge, in the american megatrends bios it seemed to have a selectable option of over clocking "extreme" or presumably other options, i havent tinkered with it at all as im afraid ill either lose the over clocking settings (something i gather is precious), or screw my system. i lack the knowledge to re-overclock it. (im also scared)
i have bled all the air bubbles out of the water cooling which i thought could be the problem I've run memtest86+ with no issues reported, i have manually felt the watercooling pipes heat-sinks etc and they are perfectly cool to touch, i have tried turing on with all USBs devices unplugged, but still have issue.
Please guys can you help me, its heart breaking spending $3k+ on a system that throws a fit and decides it doesn't want to play with me almost randomly, what can i do to make it stop behaving like that, and what do you think is causing it.
Any help very much appreciated.
