I cant access my external HD local disk G

Hello,
im new here.. i have a problem.. i cant access my external HD local disk G .. it say cant be detected.. and it asked to format.. whenever i try to open it.. help anyone,, T__T

Was this External HDD working fine before or is it a new one.
Did you try connecting this drive to some other computer.
