GTX560 OC for $135... yay or nay?

How good of a deal is a GTX560 OC for $155 w/ $20 MIR?

There have been too many graphic card sales lately and I just couldn't keep up anymore, so I thought I'd ask for someone else's opinion.

As far as I know, the GTX460v2 1GB OC go for about $115 after MIR... so I think $20 is not a bad price premium..
I'm not sure how much GTX560Ti 1GBs go for... I think the cheapest I've seen is like $170 after MIR?

The graphic cards in question are:

ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU II OC

EVGA GeForce GTX 560 DS SSC
http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-1466-KR

The EVGA has a higher overclock, but I THINK ASUS' cooling is better? I could be wrong...
Either way, they're both the same price...

I need to get two graphics cards for an SLI configuration. I can't get anything more powerful than this as my CPU will bottleneck (AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 4.0Ghz) and no, I won't be upgrading the CPU anytime soon.... *sigh*

EDIT: I'm playing @ 1080P resolution with everything maxed btw... Thanks!

More about gtx560
  1. I would go with the evga 560 sc
  2. Yeah, I was thinking about that too since it has higher overclock.

The thing is, I need to buy two.. but EVGA only allows 1 rebate. So i would either have to go with EVGA+ASUS or ASUS+ASUS...
  3. How much is the rebate? love evga because its such a quality product and there customer service and RMA is amazing
  4. The rebate is $20.. so $155 down to $135.

Yeah, I'm currently running EVGA 9800GTs and they're pretty good but obsolete unfortunately.

I haven't really heard much about the DS coolers on the EVGA cards so i was wondering if anyone had a good opinion on them. People say their card get haawwtt.. and I looking to run two of them... =="

Myself i would not get a card with dc coolers, from what i have read and peoples reviews i hear there not worth it. i have one myself that i got for my gf's rig and it runs hotter then my 560 sc no dc and hers is the evga one that u are looking at.

  8. I know this thread has a B.A. BUT, I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in on it.

I have that exact same Asus card, and it's absolutely brilliant. It runs VERY cool and is a ferocious OC'er. The coolest running and best OC'ing card I have ever owned.
