Cpu Need Newer Motherboard

OK so i have a old core 2 duo lying around and i intend to use it but i want to use it in a dell dimension 5100 case now the 5100 can run a core 2 duo but only up to a 2.0 gh and mine is the 2.8 or was it 3.0 i will have to look at the box so my question is i have a e7400 and i got it in 2009 should i find a motherboard that will run it or sell it and get a motherboard that will run the core 2 quad i prefer a Intel CPU also what is a motherboard you would recommend i am a little stuck i also don't have a whole lot to spend and i would like to get a asus motherboard i also resiliently got a oem system builder windows 7 install disk

Buy an Asrock board, almost the same as Asus @ half price.

i would like a asus because later if i want a 3.0 core quad i could probably go and get that not having to get a new motherboard

Get the asrock g41m-vs3 v2 its really cheap and can overclock well ;)
