Need some help, I've been out of the loop for a while and just started gaming again. My system is at a crawl with stalker clear sky. Here's what I have : e4300 gigabyte 965p-ds3 rev 3.3, 2 gig ram (pc 5300 i think), evga 8800 gts 320. Running win 7 64bit.
I want to get back into gaming and play some I missed like far cry 2, stalker clear sky, crysis, etc but dont want to break the bank. I think i need a video card, ram, and cpu. Any suggestions for best bang for the least bucks. less than 300 total would be great and that would hopefully be adequate for at least another year to 18 months.
thanks.

If you're gonna spend $300 to upgrade, then I would rather save it and add a little more later to get around $600-$700. You can build your self a really good gaming computer for around $600~$700.

But if you do want to upgrade, then just pick yourself up a Q9550 from Microcenter for $150 (if you live near one that is) and an ATI HD 5770 or ATI HD5750. Some faster DDR2 ram would be good to, at least 800mhz. If you can't get your hands on that Q9550 then I guess an E7500 ($119 on Newegg) would be okay.

Thanks,

Yeah, I could spend a little more but I didn't want to due to the holidays and buying the kids and everyone else stuff. I guess the real question is should I upgrade based on this board or is it time to just build a new system?
