I was wondering if anyone here know a good quality video card that would cost me $150 or less.
I am planning to build a computer soon, and this is one of the last things I have to buy before I can put it all together.

Thanks

Considering how early DX11 titles (Dirt2) have already shown massive (15%) FPS loss in games, I firmly believe the 5770 is underpowered, and not a long term solution. Only one title, sure, but its safer to go with a sure thing like the 4870 (which beats the 5770 in pure performance) until we know if the 5770 is even capable of running DX11 at a decent speed...

Yeah, but you can disable DX11 features which lower FPS (namely, tesselation) if you want (via some hack/workaround for instance in dirt 2) with the 5770. battleforge actually sees a FPS increase under DX11

most 5770 are actually more than $150... like $165-$180

I'd go with
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002SOX9W2

about 90% of a 5770 for about 80% of the price

Please be aware if you go with ANY 5000 series DX11 card you MUST have either Vista w/DX11 free upgrade, or WINDOWS7.

If you have XP for your OS, add $100+ etc. data backup etc. clean install etc.

5750, 5770, 5870, 5970 etc.

:sol:

where did you get that info???

the HD5000 series supports DX11, but it also supports DX10 etc...

i've never heard that you need vista or win7 (unless you want to use DX11)

ZipZoomFly has Ati 4870 512mb cards for $125. Unless you really feel the need for DX 11 right off, this is great bang for the buck. I will be waiting until spring/summer to hop on the Dx11 train when Ati/Nvidia goto war again. Fermi isn't coming until march at this point, but will most certainly shake things up a bit.
