Why does my computer starts but does not display any thing?

it starts and you feel it but cant see any thing on the monitor. some times it stars but it pauses and displays motion wierd colours that make it not to move forward, why?

Need more info. Did this start after changing a component? Any warning signs? Could be a heat issue with the video card. Artifacts can also be caused by an insuffcient power supply or bad driver.

Did you tried connecting your pc to another monitor?
Or like someone said before you might have a 5xx0 ATi card and experiencing driver issues
