I'm getting ready to start buying parts for a new computer. I have just about everything else picked out but I can't decide on a case. I don't need anything flashy or glowing, not with this one anyway. I'm looking for a sleek, black case that has a solid build and is quite but also has great airflow. I would rather not have a window but like I said I want a sleek looking case. I prefer stuff made by Lian-Li but there are some other really cool cases out there.

My problem is that I really don't think I want a full tower. I've always had mid's and I've never needed anything more. I just don't know if I can make the move to a full.

I love the Corsair case but it just seems so damn big to me.
I know there is the Antec 900 but I really don't like the plastic mesh look and the glowing fans are not what I'm looking for right now.
I also saw the Cooler Master Cosmos and that looks really nice. Again it's a full tower. Just so damn big.

I'm looking to spend a good amount on a case. I've always felt that a good case makes everything go together that much better.

So what do you guys think? Should I make the move to a full tower or stick with Lian Li like my current case? maybe there is something I've missed, what are your favorite cases?

Don't skimp on the size of the case if your going to use it for gaming where you have lots of heat also don't install any less than a 600W power supply if you are going to add cooling fans or other devices and a video card which you will need for gaming I just built a 2.8 Quad Core computer the manual called for at least 350w power supply I installed a 650w power supply with 2 extra fans the case is cool even above the power supply Have A Great Day Chuck

+ 1 on the Antec 300 - I love 'em.

I also have a Silverstone case for my media PC. Reasonable airflow and great quality.

It will help if you let us know how much your ready to spend on that case.
Over 225$ corsair obsidian silverstone tj-0, lian li full tower case all of them,
lower then that haf 932 or sniper strom , lower again antec 1200 really really lower any box with enough room to put the new video extra size card will be ok. ;-)

Kind of depends on the case I guess. I was thinking around $200 - $250. However if I find something I really like for more I will spend the extra cash.

Has anyone used the Silverstone Fortress FT02-B for a gaming comp? I really like the look of the case but I'm concerned about space. I don't think a monster video card will fit.

If you remove the honeycomb mesh from the middle 180mm fan then you can JUST get the Radeon 5970 in there.

Pic at the bottom (bit small though).

So, as you can just fit a 12 inch card in the case (and have a 180mm fan blow directly into the cooler to boot), you'll be able to fit everything else too.

The case doesn't support E-ATX mobos though, so you're restricted to 2 cards for multi GPU setups

Like I said before don't cut down on the case size for a gaming computer you need lots of power, extra fans and lots of air space you may not have any problems to start but over a period of time the heat will take it's toll when you play games you got about 6 times the heat maybe more you can go ahead an install the parts in a tight case when it over heats over a period of time your game will stall because the processor is running to hot an is shutting down if you are going to use a video card and a 3.4 Quad Core processor you will need at least 650w to 700w of power to run the extra fans an every thing else you can install a 350W like the manual says but why not spend a little more money to make sure it will operate up to par, 350w of power is find if you are going to just use it for the internet
