I am looking for a motherboard that matches the AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz well.
I really (really!) don't want to pay any more than ~£100 (~$150) for the motherboard alone.
The processor itself is ~£150 (~$230), so I don't have much room in my £650 (<$1000) budget.
The computer will be used for video rendering, gaming and running multiple (/virtual) applications.

REQUIRED FEATURES:

- Support for RAM at speeds of 1666MHz+
- Support for simple over-clocking of CPU
- Surround sound audio built-in (5.1 at least)
- Good support for AMD/ATI graphics cards
- SATA 6GB/s support, with more than 1 connector
- USB 3.0 support, with more than 1 connector
- Support for Windows XP, Vista and 7

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions or information! :)

Thanks for your quick answer. One GPU is all I'll be using for this build. Is general support for Gigabyte products good (for example: BIOS/driver updates)?

I would say so. To me MSI, Asus and Gigabyte are the best enthusiast boards.
