If you ordered form the Egg and you paid next day air you could have gone with something better while waiting 3 days (free shipping) for it to arrive.....
Other cards would not be able to run on a 300w psu. This is the only good budget card that can run on a 300w psu that i know of.
Well im not here to argue with anyone, on the contrary.. but the 4670 requires at least a 400w PSU, so that means that a good 350w or higher should be enough. Hopefully your PSU has enough juice for that 4670....
My 4670 runs on a 250W PSU, if you look at the idle/load wattage in Tom's 4670 review it uses less than 250W (the entire system).
And instead of the 4770 he should go with a GT 240, but that's a moot point, as he will buy neither.
Well that depends on your hardware specs, if you have 3 HDD's, a GPU, 2 drives, 8GB of ram, 6 fans, etc.. etc.. then your system aint pulling 250w, it will pull much more than that...
The GT240 is garbage unless he will use his PC as a Media Center... For games the 4770 is a much better option...
i'm running a 4770 and it's good, not great. but then again my system is from 2005...time to upgrade, upgrade. Looking to see what happens 1Q 2010 with chip prices. See INTC stock? Caught an upgrade today...
Well i heard the 4670 has good potential. I'm sure it can run alot of games such as cod4 and 6 on medium settings with good performance. To be precise the MSI 1gig GDDR3 4670 HD. Ive seen people play at 1440 resolution on max settings with this card. Of course because it was overclocked.
Also i researched and saw people who have the same computer as me. A Dell studio 240. Were able to run this card with no problem. Well it should be here tomorrow along with my Tridents headset!.
Ok i have this card installed now. At idle temp is 35 C and i am running this on a 350w PSU. I am able to run COD4 at 1024 x whatever number after that. it averages from 90 to 125 fps. With textures on all high i can put extra and theres no decrease but i like high better. NO AA. i tried it with AA on Broadcast at 1024 and averaged from 111 fps to 125 which is my max set. And i havent even enabled the overclock option so this card is great. Theres an overclock option with ATI overdrive which is awesome. I would recommend this card to anyone who wants a cheap low power and great performance card.
