Cant get in

so im trying to get into the advanced boot options of the asus p7p55d-e but whenever i press f8 it just gives me the option of the devices plugged into the sata ports and tells me to choose the one i want to boot to

i also turned the pc off by the power button but this time only options were safe mode where ther no adavnced bboot options?

this is the guide im following and 2. is where im stuck. is this a bios problem since i havent updated it?

If I remember correctly you press DEL on start up to get into BIOS where you can configure boot order on an ASUS board.
