Basically I'm getting a new computer and would like it to be able to play a certain game that I've had for a while, specifically Empire Total War, with the following specification:

OS: Windows XP (SP2)/Vista

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium or greater/ AMD Athlon equivalent CPU

Memory: 1GB RAM (XP), 2GB RAM (Vista), 15 GB free hard drive space.

Video card: 256 MB DirectX 9.0c compatible (Shader model 2.0)

Minimum screen resolution: 1024 x 768

That's what is written on the box which I bought before the release of Windows Seven. My main queries are whether the game would run on Windows Seven (on either: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1280150761.1261422967@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadejefklddjcflgceggdhhmdfom.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=286607&category_oid= / http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1280150761.1261422967@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadejefklddjcflgceggdhhmdfom.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=636848&category_oid= / http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1280150761.1261422967@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadejefklddjcflgceggdhhmdfom.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=221243&category_oid=-37534 / http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0719106777.1261425421@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadejefklddjcflgceggdhhmdfom.0&category_oid=&sku=520577&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null ) if it would work on any/all of these, I'd be glad if you could tell me.

(As you can prabable tell, I have a really poor understanding of graphics. :p)

Thanksmuch

The Acer Aspire M7720 / 4850 - Gaming PC will run all the games with higher frame rates and is also faster. Here is link in case you don't know which one im talking about: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1675592075.1261436326@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadejefklddjcflgceggdhhmdfom.0&category_oid=&sku=636848&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null

If you plan to game, never chooses Intel Integerated graphics card. For Gaming, you would get either a ATI or Nvidia model but i have compared all of those above from your links and have found the M7720 the fastest computer. All the specifications are higher than the other computers you have linked to and should run most of the games smooth. FYI, Graphics cards process the images you get on your monitor, does all the graphics related stuff, like game graphics (what you see in the game), graphics quality, etc. If you don't have a graphics card and have a built-in (integerated) one, then it will produce poor performance and will stress out the CPU more and can cause system restarts or overheating issues. It also has a lot of lag if you choose to game with a CPU and integerated video card.
