i was messing around in the bios settings in my p8z68-v LX when i came across the "ASUS Optimized" overclock settings. i enabled it and rebooted my pc and when looking at cpu-z at idle the core speed is 1.6GHz with voltage of 1v. but im game (BF3 for example) it bumps up to 4.4GHz and around 1.3v. what i want to know is this setting any worth it? and will my cpu last about 5 years? (because im planning to keep it for around that time)

H100, on stock i get 30-35 idle, 45-50 on load. on 4.4Ghz, 30-35 idle, 50-60 on load.

Ok, thats pretty bearable, I'd be happy and leave it as is for now,
unless you start bottlenecking your graphics cards and need to bump it up you'll not see massive improvements on a chip over 4GHz on gaming.
if you just want to pop the highest clock you can though, check out the Intel clocking guide and do it manually, its the better approach
