I've just ordered a gaming pc off eBay. It has a AMD Phenom II X4 945, two ATI 4890s, 8gb Corsair DDR3 1600mhz, 2 x 1tb SATA2 Hard Drives and an asus M4a785td-v evo motherboard. I've researched this motherboard and found that it has two pcie x16 slots but one of them only works at x4 speed. Will this reduce the performance of the graphics cards in crossfire?

Thanks,

Jack

By a lot or will it not be noticable? I got the whole pc for £399 so I'm probably just gonna sell one of the 4890s if it won't work that well.

^ Yes...the 2nd 4890 would be bottle-necked because the x4 slot operates at the speed of AGP 8x slot...So that will give you an idea about the speed of that x4 slot...

And why not sell both the HD 4890s and get a single HD 5850 and will surely have some cash left over too...

I was thinking about getting a 5850 but I don't know where I will get most for selling it. As they are part of the system I doubt they will have boxes.
