The Dell Latitude D600 had an 2.5" IDE drive in it, these drives are getting harder to get. The Dell D600 had a lot of heat related issues with failing hard drives and motherboards. My daughter had four drive failures, a motherboard failure, a screen failure and keyboard issues. It was not one of Dells best efforts. The drive can be purchased from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007605%20600003442&IsNodeId=1&name=IDE%20Ultra%20ATA100%20%2f%20ATA-6. They have come up in price, since their replacement with SATA drives. Bestbuy has one for about $152 for a Western Digital: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Western+Digital+-+Scorpio+Blue+320GB+Internal+PATA+Hard+Drive+for+Laptops+-+Black/3327724.p?id=1218395188212&skuId=3327724 It maybe time to buy another laptop, since the Dell D600 was had a Intel single core mobile cpu in it.
