Hello,
is in normal for core temps to vary by as much as 10 degrees at idle and underload? AMD 6400+ x2 Gigabyte 785 it is not O/clock

It is normal for one core to be hotter then the rest. One core will be favored and used more often which will make it hotter. Anywhere from 3 to 10 degree difference will be seen.
