Would swap 5770 for 4870 unless DX 11 is a huge deal for you, and are you getting 8 gb of ram or are you getting 4 gb, if you are getting 8 i wouldnt and drop it down to 4

And you could get the top athlon ii x3 or x4. Unless you are super after the unlocked multiplier or the extra cache that only helps in specific situations.

AZZA Helios 910 Black Japanese SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

After a mail in rebate they are about the same price. Any thoughts on the two cases?
December 23, 2009 1:16:31 AM

AZZA is such an under rated brand, but i have seen some of their cases, and they look good, and this is no exception. it has more expandability, more fans, bigger fans, quieter fans, looks cooler, and cost less, therefore go with the AZZA and the rest of my build.

I like your chip combo a lot... I worry bout the micro board though... What kindof efffect will that have on the build?
December 23, 2009 1:31:39 AM

none. micro boards are just smaller and they are backwards compatible with atx cases, but your case supports in anyway. you might have to adjust a few risers on your case, but that is it. it is actually a very good board, just used it in a build.

I second that. It doesn't hamper anything really.

Not bad.

As for the video card, I'd definitely recommend the 5770 over the 4870, because you're obviously planning on keeping this machine for 2-3 years, right? I mean, you're just building it now. So b that timeframe, DX11 will come in handy and a 4xxx card will likely start getting obsoleted for the real high-end stuff.
December 23, 2009 11:30:44 AM

yea thats why i put the 5770 in the build, for future proofness.
