it all depends on what video card manufacturer you want to go with. I prefer Nvidia over ATI myself thus i would recommend you buy this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130236&cm_re=msi_am3_980a-_-13-130-236-_-Product . if instead you are an ATI person than i would go with the mobo in the post before mine. To explain a little more how this works in case you do not know, if you want to SLI you need a Nvidia Chipset and if you want to crossfire than you need a ATI chipset. with a Intel processor this is not the case because you can both SLI and Crossfire on an Intel chipset but since you are going for an AMD processor you need to choose which chipset will match chipset manufacture with the video cards you plan to link together.

I'm sorry but there are no motherboards that support phenom 2 x4 with an AM2+ socket and ddr2 ram with 3+ PCI- Express Slots on an AMD chip-set anywhere on newegg.

I'll have to look somewhere else.

If you were to Upgrade to ddr3 you just might be able to do it.

It in itself will give you a pretty good boost in speed.

What motherboard do you have right now?

If you don't mind, what are you planning on using more graphics cards for, 1 4890 is pretty good for most games.

You could save up your money for one enormous PC overhaul.
