Radeon HD 3450 512mb vs Geforce 9500GT 1gb

i want em fanless, fast, n cheap!
so my question is: which one would be better?

I'd say the Nvidia card kicks the Radeon card's ass in just about every way imaginable. Although neither are what I would call "fast" by today's standards. But for fanless and cheap, that's probably about the best you can do.

You can go up to a 256-bit DDR3 fanless card if you're willing to spend about $90-$100, but I don't know if that qualifies as "cheap" anymore for you.

thank you. i will stick with the nvidia one. do you think a 2.4ghz c2d cpu will be good enough for this card, or will the cpu be a bottleneck?

No, you shouldn't have any problem. If anything, the video card will be a drag on the CPU.

Any particular reason it has to be fanless? If not for that, you could get a lot better card for roughly the same amount of money.

Although even then, if you want a card that roughly matches the speed of your CPU, you'll probably be in about the $100 range.
