Where do i find the video card settings on an emachine pc

please help! my daughter just installed her new Sims game and it downloaded just fine, but when she hits ok to play it, its giving her a message about that the video card settings need to be changed to play it. im not very good with computers, so coul someone please tell me where to go to change these settings?

what model emachine or what video card do have how about right clicking on the desktop and look for ati control center or nvidia control panel
look in windows control panel add remove programs to see if you have amd/ati or nvidia drivers installed you can download new drivers right from them
