i'm running an intel i5 2500K, an nvidia GTX 560 Ti, a z77 motherboard, and a 600watt corsair builder series psu.

i would like to know how far i can push my cpu on stock cooler, or on the zalman cnps5x, which is the only cpu cooler i have.

also, can anyone give a beginner a little vocabulary lesson on the terminology relating to a motherboard? thanks!

Dont use the stock cooler. That other cooler you have may hit from 4.0-4.5 but it really depends on your temps. What terminology specifically?

BIOS, CMOS, everything, pretty much.

Also, which way should my CPU fan be facing? Upwards to the vent on the top of the case, backwards to the fan on the rear, forwards, or downwards?

I....my....yeah....I think it depends on your mobo (could be wrong here), but mine pushes air through the Heatsink and out the rear of the case...If you dont know what the bios is I dont think you should be changing out Heatsinks...You have alot of reading to do. Your best bet is to use google/wiki if a term comes up and you dont know what it is ex: Google: "bios wiki". You are going to see alot of terms and alot of abbreviations, but wiki is real good at breaking things down like the basic input output system. I suggest you start here and read your way up.
