Must I use X-fire MB for HD 5850?

Hi,

I have been a nVidia user since the beginning and HD 5850 is the first ATI card I buy.

After I have bought the card, it suddenly hits me that I have not checked if my motherboard is OK to run the card. Must I have to have a AMD and / or X-fire motherboard to run a single HD5850 in its ful glory? It is kind of confusing to read what's in the box.

just ignore what the box said, they just want you to think it like that. the card will work fine with intel processor and any motherboard. but of course you need crossfire certified board if you plan to CF the card in the future
