Currently I am using amd overdrive to oc my 965 using the stock cooler. I am measuring temp with amd overdrive and pc wizard 2012.

Currently I am at 3592 mhz (200mhz ref clock and x18 multiplier) with 1.375 volts (from 1.45 stock).

During the 1 hour stability test (all 4 cores at 100%) the temp hovers at high 54 to low 55 degrees.

When I play Bf3 at ultra the temp goes up to 57-58 degrees.

Does everything look good so far? I am worried that maybe I set the voltage too low (to reduce heat since on stock cooler) and it could hinder performance in some way.

I decided to be more conservative temp wise and lowered the clock to 3415mhz and voltage all the way down to 1.3v.

Now I get 49 degrees during stress tests and 51-52max during Bf3.

I just ordered two 120mm fans to replace my 80mm exhaust fans that have thrice as much air displacement. Hopefully this will further lower temps so that I can achieve a 200mhz OC at 1.35v while staying around the 50 degree temp range.

Thanks. I built my first computer 3 days ago and started OCing it yesterday.
