I just got a upgrade copy of Windows 7 Professional 64bit, and just finished installing it. But the thing is, I got a AMD Phenom II x4 925 on blackfriday. My motherboard (Which is a Foxconn A7GM-S) needs it's BIOS updated so that it can support a AM3 socket. I am currently using a AMD Athlon X2 6000+ AM2(it might be a "AM2+" socket I don't remember). Anyways I don't know how to flash it exactly, I know it has something to do with creating a bootable disk(I'll be using a bootable CD) to flash. I have the BIOS file here(http://www.foxconnchannel.com/support/downloads_detail....). How do a flash my BIOS?
Be warned that you should read ALL of these instructions very, very carefully and make certain you understand exactly what you are about to do before you start.
A botched BIOS update, which is easy to do, will leave you with a DEAD MOTHERBOARD. There is nothing you can do then but send the board back to Foxconn to have a new BIOS flashed to the board. Period.
It only takes a few seconds to do a successful BIOS update if you do it correctly, just make sure you understand it perfectly before you start!
