GTX 460 SE overclocking

Hello guys,
I have a question that what is the maxmium processor clock to set on this card because when i set it to 800 the games are working very smooth but after 4-5 mints the colours crashed and then the pc restarted then i check again and same thing happens but after i restore and restart the pc it was the same thing as before and i was like OMG!
Then next day no crashes no problem it was running like before but on default settings
So please tell me it is save to overclock it again and if yes tell me the best clock to set it with.
Thanks in advance.

More about overclocking
  1. the colours just means you pushed it too far, its kind of like the blue screen of GPU overclocking
just dont go as far, or raise the voltage if you can

But can you please tell how far i can go and the voltage i should set because am new on this things please help me
  3. monitor you temps, it shouldnt go much past 80C, as long as its below that your good

Well it is also good on 800 but after 4-5 mints its crash and restart the pc
  5. then you have to raise the voltage, just make sure it dosent overheat the card, so try and say below 80C

I downloaded msi afterburner but i the voltage metre is freezes i can only change memory clock core clock and fan speed.
  7. have you
1.unlocked the voltage in the setting

    and if that didnt work

2.changed the voltage settings in the CFG file

I tested it with 800 core clock and 1800 memory clock at 1000v
in stress test its on 62c and in burn-in test its on 72c is it normal ?

Well it only happens with me only 1 time but can this thing destroy my card ?
  20. it will shorten the lifespan some, but since your keeping it cool, and your not doing extreme overclocking, you will still get a long life out of it

But what's up with the crashing if you are on skype please contact me directly my skype is : jam3scool
  22. sorry i don't do skype... friends only :P

i wouldn't get too worried about it unless it starts happening constantly
