I'm building a new PC and this is my first full build.
Here are some of the parts I have chosen:
- AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.4 GHz AM3 Socket
- WD Caviar Black 750GB 7200rpm SATA 3.0GB/s Hard Drive
- Antec 900 Black Steel ATX Mid-Tower Case
- LITE-ON 24x DVD Burner
- G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory
- Acer P235Hbmid Black 23" 5ms HDMI Monitor
- Most likely Windows 7 Professional or Home Premium 64 bit

I also already have an Antec 650W Neopower PSU and a ATI MSI 4850 w/Thermaltake DuOrb cooler

The dimensions of the case is (L x W x H) 18.40" x 8.10" x 19.40"

I am looking for a Motherboard that is reliable preferably with 2 PCI-E x16 slots, supports RAM and Windows 7.

Help/advice will be much appreciated. :hello:

btw my budget for the mb is under 150

Looks good. I would go for a Spinpoint f3 instead of a caviar black. They perform better and are cheaper... which is why they are continuously sold out. So if you can't find one before you start building, Seagate's 7200.12 is also a good alternative.

Also, IIRC AMD's AM3 platform uses strictly dual channel memory. Thus, you should go for a 2 x 2gb kit to utilize it. That should save you some money. And if you want, you could use some of that saved money on a 902 instead of a 900. Unless you plan on putting a dremel to your 900, the extra cable management on the 902 is awesome.

Good choice of monitor, I have one as well. :D
