hello ladies and gents.

i'm currently on the market for a new lcd monitor.

My budget is tight, around $150-200.

my current 19" hanns-g has served me well, but the 8ms response time really sucks for gaming, and it only goes up to 1280x1024.

i'm currently using a radeon hd4850 with 1 gb, and i want to play some games in at least 1920x1080 resolution, as well as watch movies in 1080p.

what would you guys recommend for my budget?

i'm looking at least 21", nothing smaller.

i have no need for speakers, but i do want hdmi inputs and dvi.

i'm already playing games at 1920x1080 on my lcd tv with no issues, so high resolution is not an issue for me.

i was checking asus monitors, they seem cheap for the features they offer. I might get one of the 21"+ asus if my research don't turn up anything better.

LED Monitor is the way to go.
Really, really great picture, excellent with ridiculous contrast ratio, LED monitors are best.

I was looking at LED monitors from LG, Samsung, and Dell, then Dell has occasional theirs on sale, and I got it 3 weeks ago - the Dell 24" G2410 LED monitor for like $240 including free shipping. After installing the monitor driver, hands down the LED's are the way to go. I wish I had the money to get the samsung LED monitor though, much more stylish.

woah, i didn't know led monitors were so cheap.

i guess i was only looking at major brands, like samsung and lg.

darn it, now i gotta compromise some more stuff for a led, rly wanted to spend like $200 at most.

ummm...yeah, all LED TVs and monitors are that way. To my knowledge, there are no LED products that do not use LCD panels except hand held stuff(though I think that expensive TV and Monitor models dont use TN LCD, but the other really expensive LCD type).

Go to Logicbuy and keep checking for when the Dell goes on sale (at least that is what i did) and use logicbuy cupon/promo code if they give you one.

Unfortunately, when not on sale they cost like $300.
