Boot Problem

i need help, i did my first ever build today. tomorrow im getting 2 hard drives for RAID 0 and i already have the WIN 7 disk, but for now i planned on using a Hard Drive from one of my really old computers( its only 40 gb lol) and that has XP on it. it was working fine before i took it out of that comp, but when i put it in my new one, the system would load. then id get the screen asking how id like to boot XP (like safe mode, or start normally) and no matter what i do the screen will then go black (once i make a selection), ill here by graphics card fan kick in for like half a second (im about 95% sure its the graphics card) and then the the monitor will say no signal and a second later the system will be booting up again (ill see the asus motherboard screen) can anyone help me with this.

If I understand correctly, you have an old HD with Win XP and a bunch of old drivers on it from your old computer that match your old hardware and are wondering why it won't work with a totally new set of hardware ?

Put in the windows instal CD and then format the hard drive so you get all the incorrect drivers and OS settings off that HD...then install Windows on it, followed up by installing the correct drivers that match the actual components installed on the system that the HD is now in.
