I'm building an i3 htpc type build and was wondering which type of ram to choose

(newegg daily deal)

or just two of these

the second is obviously cheaper but is the first a better deal?

Thanks in advance

If it's an HTPC then you might as well buy the second one, simply because the only real difference between the two is that the first has a heatspreader which won't really help considering I doubt you'll be overclocking an HTPC, and it runs at slightly lower voltages (1.35V compared to 1.5V). Just go for the second kit, because I don't think you'll need 4 GB - 2 GB should be more than enough.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

4GB can give u more future proof so, I would go with the 1st or something a little more expensive but much better like this G.SKILL Ripjaws
