Hello, everyone that reads this. I know this is old news for most people but new to some, like myself. I have done all the reading I can and I have come to a conclusion but I need the support of the community before I go blow cash I really don't have.
My question is this, If the MA770-UD3 can run RAM at 1066 but it requires the correct CPU, what CPU would that be? My conclusion is as follows -
Flash the BIOS to AM3 support, use the AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz and use GeIL Black Dragon 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066.
The RAM is listed on the GB website as compatible but requires the right CPU. I have the motherboard and I can get that CPU from a friend for $40 but I need to order that RAM.
Will this combo work and will I get the 1066 RAM to run at said value?
